Grove Park Inn is one of the best places to stay when in Asheville, NC. Built in the 1800's, this historic inn, located in the mountains of Western North Carolina has activities for all seasons, including an 18 hole golf course which originally opened in 1899 and a luxurious spa which includes several mineral pools.

TJ and his family love to visit this hotel, especially during the Christmas season, when the hotel is decorated with trees, wreaths, seasonal garland and Christmas scenes. There's even the National Gingerbread House Competition which starts in November and runs through New Year's Day! You can even enjoy hot chocolate in a souvenir glass while relaxing by the fireplace in the main lobby! Of course, one of TJ's favorite parts of each visit is riding one of the historic main inn elevators which use the chimneys as elevator shafts.
