12 Million Views Special: The Foundry Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton
| My YouTube Channel hit the 12 million views milestone mark today which is February 28th 2019. Thank you to all my viewers and subscribers for watching throughout the years. I'm dedicating this video to all the staff and teachers past and present of Hope Academy which is the school I'm graduating from in about 3 months. This video features a hotel tour of the new Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in downtown Asheville, NC which is called The Foundry Hotel. It is where I got my high school senior pictures taken by one of my favorite people, Mrs. Andrea Coon. :) The Foundry Hotel has restored the Asheville Supply and Foundry Company buildings which used to be the steel factory that supplied steel for a lot of the prominent buildings in Asheville including the Biltmore Estate. One of the Best Elevator Cab Modernization at Hampton Inn & Suites
| This is at Hampton Inn & Suites in Southpark Area of Charlotte NC. This is the same Hampton that I toured with Cannycart back 2011 and a hotel tour with the GM Marcel Hebert in 2012. The hotel has undergone some renovations and when our dryer gave out this past week and couldn't be fixed until the parts came in this coming week Mom came up with idea of making a reservation here so she could get the week's laundry done and I could see the renovations which has been something I have been wanting to do but haven't been able to fit in my schedule yet so we stayed here this past Friday night and did a full hotel tour. I'm told the lobby area is fixing to undergo some renovations next. Overall, very impressive hotel improvements made it even more impressive and classy. A Sometimes You Know God Just Winked At You Moment
| We have had many God winks in our lives and we just had one happened this week when we were in Greensboro, NC. After a great visit with Daly Seven Hotels and exploring some of their hotels in town, we decided to grab some lunch before heading back home. Dad picked a place called Darryl's Wood Fire Grill and the host took us upstairs and stopped at the elevator cab booth. Let's Take A Look At A Dover Hydraulic Elevator Tank
| Thanks to JP, Adele, Charisse along with Robert & little Bart for making this a great visit to Holiday Inn Express in Greensboro, NC on I-40 Wendover Ave Exit. JimLiElevators has filmed here before on his trip to NC several years ago. Stay tuned for a full hotel tour but for now enjoy this little segment where I had the opportunity to go inside the elevator machine room and see the Dover blue elevator tank that houses most of the components that makes this type of elevator work. Video 1 High School Senior Project
| As most of ya'll know, I'm a senior in high school this year and I have a Senior Project I'm working on. The project is called "Spreading Hamptonality in the Community" The goal of the project is to "be a blessing to others." I am partnering with Saturday Sharing Ministry that helps those in need. Dyess Arkansas' Only Elevator? Johnny Cash Boyhood Home Museum
| This is a really neat elevator and it might be the only elevator in Dyess, AR. I forgot to ask while there so I am not sure if there is anymore elevators but judging from the size of the town, I'm thinking it might be the only elevator in town. Johnny Cash was born in Kinsland, AR but his family moved to Dyess when he was around 3 years old. His boyhood home has been restored and looks as closely as it possibly can when Johnny was living there through out his childhood. The administrative building of Dyess Colony houses the museum that recollects Dyess' history along with a section dedicated to Johnny Cash and his family and career. | Here is a close up view of the neat elevators at the Memphis Pyramid with a very nice close up view of the counterweights plus elevator coming back down. The Memphis Pyramid is home to America's Tallest Free Standing Elevators. The brand of elevator is ThyssenKrupp and they go up 28 stories which is about 300 feet tall! Sneak Peek of The Guest House at Graceland in Memphis, TN
| Our recent trip to Memphis was part Christmas gift and also part Congratulations gift for me for doing so well in the dual enrollment program for college & career for my senior year of high school. I took a college level math course to earn my high school math credit plus first year of college credit. The math class ended on December 7 and happily I finished strong with a A in the course and to celebrate I picked something on my bucket list which was for our family to go to Memphis and see Graceland all decked out for Christmas. We stayed at The Guest House at Graceland which is just right down the street from Graceland. This is just a sneak peek video of the hotel. Hotel Tour Of Marriott Center City Uptown Charlotte NC
| Wells Fargo, where my dad works at, threw a big dinner event for their employees celebrating 25 years with the company which included an overnight stay at the Marriott Center City in our hometown of Charlotte NC so we got a "staycation" which was kind of neat. I ate in the room and did my schoolwork while mom and dad went to the dinner celebration for the evening. The hotel has undergone renovations since I filmed their elevators back in 2010. Very nice renovation from what I could tell. This was my first official stay at a Marriott hotel but I have stayed at various Courtyard by Marriott hotels before though.
Interesting notes that we didn't mention on the video:

Loretta Lynn's Dude Ranch Plantation Home In Hurricane Mills Tennessee
| I have had several requests for a video to Hurricane Mills if we ever were in the area ever since I had uploaded our visit to the original childhood home of Loretta Lynn which is located in Van Lear, Kentucky. Hurricane Mills is the town that Loretta Lynn owns I believe along with her plantation home, museum & gift shop plus the replica of her Butcher Holler home place that she had built in memory of her parents. We were on our way to Hurricane Mills and saw a highway sign for this place and thought it would be neat to stop and explore so that's just what we did.
