In this video, we take a look at the original location which is in Memphis, Tennessee of the very first Hampton Inn hotel. It opened in 1984 under the division of Holiday Inn Brand. As you can tell in the video, the very 1st Hampton Inn was an outside door corridor property. It doesn't look like there is an elevator for this particular property. Hilton purchased the brand in 1999.
