The main part of this Hampton is located in the 1827 restored manor house that had been built for Virginia's Governor James McDowell. We got to tour the room named for him which by the way was the only room we got to tour as the hotel was pretty much sold out due to a couple of wedding parties staying there. In addition to the rooms like the Mcdowell in the historic manor, this Hampton Inn does offer regular Hampton room types in the added on section of the hotel.
